The Problem
A Will is useless if it can't be found.
Every year, countless families face emotional and financial hardship because a loved one's Will is lost, outdated, or inaccessible. Physical documents can be misplaced, damaged, or deliberately hidden. Digital files get lost in old email accounts or forgotten hard drives.
When the time comes, your family needs clear instructions, not a stressful treasure hunt. Soult ensures your most important documents are secure, up-to-date, and accessible to the right people at the right time.

What is a Will?
Your Final Instructions
A Will, or 'Last Will and Testament', is a legal document that outlines your wishes for the distribution of your property and the care of any minor children. It names an 'executor'—the person or institution you trust to manage your estate and ensure your wishes are carried out.
Without a Will, the law decides how your assets are divided, which may not align with your intentions. A clear, valid Will is the most powerful tool you have to protect your loved ones and secure your legacy.
The Role of an Executor
The Person Who Makes It Happen
Choosing an executor is one of the most critical decisions in estate planning. This person is responsible for locating your Will, inventorying your assets, paying off debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining assets to your beneficiaries as you've instructed.
It's a role of immense trust and responsibility. You should choose someone who is organised, trustworthy, and capable of handling financial and legal matters. It's also crucial to inform them of their role and let them know where to find your Will.
Soult simplifies this by allowing you to securely share access instructions with your designated executor through our Executor Flow.
What is a Codicil?
Making Small Changes to Your Will
Life changes, and your Will might need to as well. A Codicil is a legal document used to make minor changes or additions to an existing Will. Instead of rewriting the entire Will, you can use a Codicil to update a beneficiary, change your executor, or add a specific gift. It must be signed and witnessed just like the original Will.
Change of Executor
Your chosen executor may no longer be able or willing to serve.
Add or Remove a Beneficiary
Due to births, deaths, marriages, or changes in relationships.
Update a Specific Gift
You may have sold an asset you bequeathed or wish to change who receives it.
Appoint a New Guardian
If the guardian you named for your minor children is no longer suitable.
Example of a Codicil Clause
I, [Your Name], being of sound mind, declare this to be the first Codicil to my Last Will and Testament dated [Date of Original Will]. I hereby revoke the appointment of [Old Executor's Name] as my Executor and appoint [New Executor's Name] in their place.
Note: This is a simplified example. Always use a proper legal template or consult a lawyer for a Codicil.
